Qatar Signs the Digital Cooperation Organization Charter
Doha, 11 December 2023 – The Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) announced that the State of Qatar has signed the DCO Charter, further strengthening the Organization’s capacity to accelerate global digital economies. H.E Mohammed bin Ali bin Mohammed Al Mannai, Qatar’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and the DCO Secretary-General H.E Ms. Deemah AlYahya attended the signing of the DCO Charter at the Doha Forum in Qatar earlier today.
His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, emphasized the importance of signing the charter, stating,” The signing of the charter to join the Digital Cooperation Organization contributes to enhancing Qatar’s role as a key player on the international level in the field of technology and digital innovation. It enables the exchange of experiences for digital technology startups and artificial intelligence, bridging cooperation and communication to allow youth and entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and knowledge in the digital realms at both the regional and international levels.”
Commenting on the Charter signing, H.E Ms. Deemah AlYahya, Secretary-General of the Digital Cooperation Organization, said: “ Qatar stands as a key global force in leveraging digital innovation for sustainable socio-economic development. The signing of the DCO Charter cements our mutual commitment to enabling digital prosperity for all. The DCO provides a global platform for digital cooperation, and together with Qatar, we will facilitate the growth and development of a sustainable and inclusive global digital economy. We are pleased to welcome Qatar to the Digital Cooperation Organization as a Member State and look forward to working together to achieve our shared goals.”
