Internal Audit Senior Manager

Job Purpose

To lead the planning, execution and reporting of Audit Engagements (Advisory and Assurance) across multiple divisions within the Organization as well as conduct periodic investigation activities pertaining to whistleblower, fraud, and anticorruption cases.

Job Responsibilities & Duties

Core responsibilities include but is not limited to:

  • Plan and execute internal Advisory and Assurance engagements that focus on adding value and proactively identifying inherent and emerging risks.
  • Collaborate with management to design and implement tailored and cost effective action plans capable of remediating identified issues.
  • Screen reported cases of suspected misconduct (e.g., harassment, fraud, corruption, conflict of interest), thoroughly investigate to substantiate facts and provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Conduct Audit Follow-Up activities to ensure the timely and effective closure of Action Plans and improvement opportunities recommended by IA.
  • Function as the Internal Controls and Risk Management SME for the Organization and provide cutting edge advisory services that contribute to the realization of predefined Goals and Objectives.
  • Review the effectiveness of Financial Reporting processes and the accuracy of underlining Opex transactions as well as compliance with applicable Financial Reporting requirements.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of the strategies, operating model, projects and initiatives of each Department within the organization and partner with management to effectively manage related risks.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments to understand the likelihood and impact of potential risks, the strength of control activities and the needed improvement opportunities for all critical business processes.
  • Partner with Department Heads, Legal Counsel and GRC to design and implement policies and procedures to help ensure effective governance.
  • Enforce compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as applicable external laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Maintain a heightened awareness of significant changes within the business environment and ensure management reflects the necessary risk management updates.
  • Oversee the Internal Audit Department’s Quality Assurance and Improvement Program that ensures the function is adhering to the Internal Audit policy and applicable IIA standards.
  • Lead the sourcing, implementation, and management of an Internal Audit Management System (e.g., TeamMate Plus).

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Internal or External Audit, Consulting,
  • Governance, Risk Management and Compliance roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business
  • Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CIA, CA, CPA, ACCA, CISA, CFE, CRMA,
  • CCSA etc.) are preferred but not required.

  • Self-motivated leader who requires very minimal supervision.
  • Strong ability to negotiate, persuade and collaborate with management
  • and employees at all levels.
  • Eloquent communicator in English (verbal and written communication)
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Audit Management Systems.
